Concrete knowledge of Database Administration in SQL Server
Experience in troubleshooting & resolving database integrity, performance, blocking and deadlocking, replication, log shipping, connectivity, security issues etc.
Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, using performance monitor, SQL Profiler & other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Ability to detect & troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space & other resource contention
Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, clustering, database mirroring & replication
Familiarity with main data manipulation languages & the principles of database design
Relevant Bachelors degree
5 or more years of experience in database development & support in MS SQL Server environments
Ability to build relationship with & influence all levels within an organisation
Ability to handle a multi-tasking environment & meet deadlines
Ability to detect & troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space & other resource contention
Strong written & verbal communication skills, strong analytical & quantitative modelling skills
